Luis Alfredo is a 24 year old singer born in Mexico City. He came to the U.S. and is connected with his roots through the music he now performs.
He began singing mariachi music six years ago in schools, churches, and small parties in Chicago. The community has helped him grow by recommending him, allowing him to perform in big festivals, opening concerts, and winning out-of-state awards and recognition. He has won awards such as Triunfo and Radio Zonikka awards for best male Ranchero singer, as well as recognition from City of Los Angeles and Chicago's Mexican consulates.
He is currently working on projects with a former Sony Mexico producer.
Luis Alfredo sings dressed as a "charro." Through the songs and voice, he is bringing back memories of the Latin American culture to older generations, and teaching younger people to appreciate the music that our roots created. This music represents many in these United States, even if we're away from our motherland.
Luis Alfredo's performance is a mariachi traditional solo performance, using technology to bring the best of México's music through soundtrack music or mariachi crew. His voice represents tradition, pride and inspiration of and for the culture.
