Ambe’r Johnson is a Philadelphia native that relocated to Chicago to pursue a B.A in dance from Columbia College Chicago. She currently identifies as a West African dancer along with the elements of House, Afro Beat, Dance Hall and Modern.

Ayanna London is a multi-disciplinary artist who utilizes dance, music, multi-media art, and storytelling as spiritual devotion and cultural education.

Ambe’r Johnson

Ambe'r Johnson is a Philadelphia native that relocated to Chicago to pursue a B.A in dance from Columbia College Chicago. She currently identifies as a West African dancer along with the elements of house, afrobeat, dancehall, and modern. At the moment, Ambe’r is a Principal Dancer and Rehearsal Director with Ayodele Drum & Dance under the artistic direction of T. Ayo Alston and Imania Detry. She also serves on the staff committee of Ayodele Youth Programs as an instructor and choreographer.

Johnson has performed in works by Onye Ozuzu, Pamela McNeil, Dr. Rennie Harris, Jessica Miller Tomlinson, Keyierra Collins, Stacy Letrice, and Aaliyah Christina. Ambe’r wishes to continue developing her career as a West African artist and the aforementioned techniques.

Ayanna London

Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, Ayanna Uhuru is a multi-disciplinary artist who utilizes dance, music, multi-media art, and storytelling as spiritual devotion and cultural education. Ayanna began her dance training at the age of four with Studio One Dance Conservatory and continued via Gallery 37, Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center, Whitney Young High School, Howard University, and The Ailey School. She is trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, salsa, Horton, Graham, West African drum and dance, and various African diasporic movement styles such as bellydancing. Ayanna has performed around the country as a company member with Momentum Dance Theatre, The Willingham Project, Flo Fiyah, and Ayodele Drum and Dance. As a resident of Bronzeville, Ayanna currently studies and practices shamanism, yoga, reiki, and other healing traditions to bring the beings of this world back to balance and harmony.
